Lets Drill

Lets Drill Who remembers this Let’s Drill book by Kim Buttfield?  Kim was one of our top female players in the 80s & 90s.  When she was the Coaching Co-ordinator and Development Officer Kim produced this book along with Life Member Alan East in 1993.  This book is given to all participants at WA Squash Coaching Courses, so there will be at least one within each squash centre.

As we are now getting back on court for training, this book is a handy tool for one and two person drills.  Pick out the ones that keep you 1.5 metres apart.  If you are competitive then set your own targets in these drills and score against each other.

Drills are a great way to improve technique and shot practice without pressure.  Top players around the world do drills 2-3 times per week – so give it a go.

WA players may get back on court for ‘training only’ from 18 May 2020

With Phase 2 of COVID-19 in WA, Squash Centres may be able to open next Monday, the 18th May by following all the guidelines.
Each “facility” or centre is different (privately owned, council owned, private lease, rec centre etc) and whilst WA Squash can send you these 2 links below, it is up to the individual centre operators as to whether you are able to open.
Contact your club centre to see if they are open, adhere to the guidelines and enjoy getting back on court.
Should anyone need assistance with training drills please contact the coach at your club or contact Sue Hillier at dowasquash@gmail.com
