In the thirty eighth year of competition Western Australia finally cracked the dominance of the traditionally strong States to take out the Australian Junior Age State Teams overall title. Previously only Queensland (22), New South Wales (12) and Victoria (2) had been champions. During this period New South Wales won 11 in succession (1993 to 2003) and Queensland were successful the next 14 years (2004 to 2017). It goes without saying that it was well overdue for another State to stand up and we are proud to say that Western Australia was that State.
